Want better email revenue? Send late at night or on the weekend

Experian found that emails sent between 8pm and 12am generated higher open and clickthrough rates, more transactions, larger orders, and greater revenue per email than emails sent during any other time of day—and by a significant margin.

Just as senders benefited from off times, so too did they benefit from sending on off days of the week. Opens and clickthroughs were highest on Saturdays and Sundays, Experian found.

Keep this in mind for your next email campaign and test what works best for your audience.

Video SEO from Wistia

I like the video seo clips from Wistia. They’re to-the-point, witty, and educational at the same time. I didn’t know you needed to create a video sitemap and they seem to make it pretty easy. More traffic to my own website because of video, yes please!

26 Beautiful Landing Page Designs Critiqued with A/B Testing Tips

Another winner from Unbounce! Great real-world examples of landing pages and suggestions for improvement and a/b tests that could be run for each. I’ve got enough ideas to make changes for the rest of the year, but today I’m just going to pick 2 and implement them this week. Easier said than done, but I’ve got to start somewhere.

Tips for Real World Marketing

So many great nuggets in here I don’t even know where to start. I feel vindicated for not using a social media management tool, even though it’s more work, since Facebook decreases EdgeRank for posts through HootSuite for example.

I also love the idea of swapping re-targeting pixels with a partner and putting them on your customer success page to ask for reviews of your product.

I’m going to have to try the subject line test of “RE: xxx” next time I send a campaign to see how it works. And, I feel like that site load time screen capture will come in handy someday for reference. Oh, and I’m not a big Evernote fan but the idea of sending my competitors emails there to save for the future is genius!

Flexible Work Can Revolutionize Your Company (if you do it right)

A great article in response to the discussion around Marissa Mayer’s recent decision to ban working from home for Yahoo employees. Jaleh understands the challenges that working moms face and is an amazing marketing leader (and one of my personal mentors).
